Since gaining protected status in the 1970s, seals have been making a big comeback in New England. There are several local spots where seals often hang out and they are popular destinations for divers. Often the seals keep their distance, but occasionally they will want to play by nibbling fins and checking out their reflections in the lenses of dive cameras.
I am based in Massachusetts, spending my clear nights outside taking pictures of space, and calm days scuba diving in the chilly northern Atlantic. If you see an image you like and it isn't aligned properly on a product or doesn't look quite right, please feel free to contact me and I'll try to get it just right.

So cute
Brian Weber replied:
They're so much fun! When we catch them in the right mood, they are very interested in looking at themselves in the camera lens or sneaking up on us to nibble our fins while we're not looking.
